My 2014 F150 with 14k miles started having a crazy vibration in the front end. After a trip to the dealership I was told my hubs need replaced and it appears to be caused by saltwater. I launch out of a creek a lot and my truck gets covered in mud and its a pretty nasty environment. I think the saltwater in the mud has caused this issue. Just a heads up to anyone that does the same.

Be sure you don’t just have mud caked and dried on inside of front rims. It will throw the balance way off. That will make it feel like it’s about to come unglued.

It had mud caked in the auto hubs in the front end. The amount of rust was amazing. If I were using a regular boat ramp I don’t think I would have had an issue, but driving 20 miles with all the mud soaked in salt sure did beat up the front end. Luckily it was all warranty work. I think I will be hitting the car wash immediately after each trip. I also bought a spray pump, the ones for weeds and whatnot, and some saltaway. I think I will hose the front end down after launching.

lol I know the difference between mud caked in a rim and a loud vibration that is shaking the front end. A vibration analyst found the issue in the front end. They showed me the rusted hubs and when he spun them by hand you can hear the grinding noise.
