I found a cracked hose that drains the cockpit of my boat to the through hull connector on the transom. I’ve looked on line and called a couple of marine stores but haven’t found a replacement.
The connector diameter is approximately 1 1/2 inches and the hose on there is a really tight fit. Maybe it’s glued/sealed somehow. I would also like to know if there’s a trick to getting the new hose onto the through hull.
Check locally with Charleston Rubber & Gasket or Allen & Webb for the hose they may have it. You need to heat the end of the hose with a hair dryer or heat gun and that will make it easier to slide on
You can get equivalent reinforced hose at Lowes or Home Depot. It’s just a drain line, nothing special. Use a little liquid dish soap and water to lubricate it to slip on the fitting.
^^^ X2. I use “Dawn” dish washing liquid lots of times when I need to slip a hose onto a barb that’s a tight fit. Dawn is really slick, it will naturally dry out and actually act as a sealant once it does.
Just a thought. Someone told me a pretty good idea before; double up on the hose clamps where it allows. It’s a little added security to keep the hoses from coming off.
