Just back from fishing the headwaters of the Tuck…just northwest of Owens Gap in Jackson County. Water level moderately high for this time of year…fish very cooperative.
Saturday…12 or 13 small native brookies and 1 19" rainbow. Brookies mostly on stimulators. The bow took a #16 yellow salley at dusk in a still pool.
Sunday morning…fished from the Owens property upward in the Public Game Lands…9 brookies…seven small and 2 over nine inches…beautiful, full bodied fish. These are truely the crown jewels of the southern mountains.
All fish released to fight another day and hopefully, to spawn.
Terry…Thanks for your helpful information. Going back on September 13.
