Put in about 6:45 and started trolling out to the big water as soon as we hit about 90’ or so. Got the first, and biggest, fish (26") before I got the rod into the rod holder after dropping the first bait down. Weird thing was we weren’t really marking many fish at the time.
After that, is was more of a slow pick and we did best before dark and very shortly after. I think we had 7 by 8:30 and didn’t mark near as many fish after that as I had seen on recent trips. If we would have put in about 8 like I have been lately, we only would have caught a few fish.
We called it quits about 9:30 and wound up with a total of 9 fish. 3 shorts released and kept 5 legit keepers along with one badly hooked short.
Most all were caught in the 50’ range with a few closer to 40’.
