Headed south in the AM and stopped in 130’. 75 degrees temp. Lines in at 6:50. Dolphin in the boat at 6:55. Nonstop action all day long. Kept 20. Missed 6 or so. None were over 15 lbs. Trolled deep towards 226 but didn’t get a bite once we got over 400’ (78 temp). Turned around to run shallow and started getting bit again.
Ran through three packs of ballyhoo. We had one 'hoo left at the end of the day. Rare occurance for me.
We had all dolphin bites on the surface, nothing biting our deeper baits. I’m not normally a big believer in certain colors doing better than others, but the pink/white and pink/blue lures produced 80% of our fish.
Stopped on the way in and made three drifts over some bottom and picked up two keeper scamps and a small porgy. Following sea on the ride home was very nice.
Great day for us out there. Glad to hear everyone is doing so well this time of year. It’s nice to have to clean fish for two hours when you get back to the hill. Can’t wait to get out again.
