tuesday bottom fishing

We left dock at 8:30 and used radar to get out slowly. It was perfect. when radar said a buoy was 20 yards ahead it was 2o yards ahead. we picked up all boats, jetties, etc. Finally got out to 90 feet about 10:30. Water was beautiful, clear and calm. we caught several nice BSB, Vermillion, silver, triggerfish, octopus, and too many sharks to count. Came back in about 3PM. encounterd fog again at about 10 miles out to past ft sumter.
Tested new 300HP Suzekis. My old 250 Yahama’s got .7MPG at 30MPH.
The new engines got 2.5MPG at 35MPH, a 400% increase in fuel efficiency. Now all I have to do is go fishing 50 times a year and in 10 years the engines will have paid for themselves:smiley:

What boat are you getting 2.5MPG with the twin DF300s running 24kts (~30mph)? These motors keep sounding better and better

Luke 8:22-25

What kinda bote you got there Partners-Ship?

30 ft Pursuit walkaround. Very heavy boat.
And it was 35MPH.
I was getting an unbelievable 3.5-4MPG at 18-20mph.
On old 250’s never got over 1MPG and at speed it dropped to .7

You going off fuel flow’s for the MPG calc?

sounds like magic

The gas gauge has not moved yet, still shows full. My boat holds 310 gal so I won’t know if gauges are accurate until I fill up after next trip.
BTW - My win 250 Yamaha’s are for sale. One engine the head is blown and is thrown in free. The other, an 01, is perfect. Includes all instrumentation, ss props, etc. Only $6k. Bluebook is $6500 for 1 engine

Sounds like numbers for one engine, let us know after your fill up.

a2z…that’s what I was thinking…if not that is more then impressive
