Met Scott at Bushy park Landing after a slight detour to Moncks Corner first. Finally got to the landing and we were on the water by about 7:30. Tide was falling all day and the water was slow moving at first, but picked up soon. Cutmullet struck first with a trout (14" or so) on an electric chicken grub, as he was dealing with him, he had another on his other rod, but it did take. We worked the bank of the main river for a bit, and I managed one trout about 15" 0r 16" on the rootbeer/Chart grub (old faithful).
After no more luck in the main channel, we headed into some of the feeder creeks. I ended up with one more fish on old faithful, a 4.5lb red (about 25"??).
He put up a good little fight, really scrappy for the size. After a bit with no action, I switched to a gulp swim minnow and on the first cast another red crushed it. Much smaller this time, about 16" I would guess. Finished the day off with about a 14" flounder to complete the Slam-a-Jamma!!!
Thanks Scott for waiting on me at the landing, Bushy is a cool place, call me next time you head up there!

Dolphin, it looks like you have an anchor system out the back yak and a cajun anchor with you, is there a reason for both? Advantages, disadvantages, etc…
thats not an anchor trolley on his boat, its the lifting line for his rudder. Pull back on the top line and the rudder deploys, pull back on the bottom and it pulls the rudder up out of the water. Dave is that one of the rentals or did you buy a ride?
Dillon, Mark bob is right, that is the rudder line. I primarily use the 3 ft. cajun anchor and love it. Sometimes I tie it off to my bait bucket, so if I get a big fish on I can throw the bucket over and come back for the anchor.
Markbob, that is one of our rentals. I am starting to really like that boat as well.
Livestoked, That was the first time I have fished that area. My experience growing up in Florida was as long as there is bait, the reds will move up into brackish waters. I don’t think you will find the same size fish that you do around the inlets, but seemed to be good numbers of fish. Cutmullet has fished the area more than me, and I have seen him land some big uns!!

just as soon as possible, i would love to rent the ride 135, and the ultimate 145, but leaning towards the ride.I’ve been to timeout twice to look and ask more ?'s, just cant get off work long enough. maybe it’s not the kayak way, but i would love to be able to mount a trolling motor to it, i have a foot controlled minnkota from a previous boat. Just not sure the Ride135 would be sturdy enough, or where it would go, side or in the back. Nice fish by the way, used to have a lot of good luck @ bushy park/yellowhouse, in last boat. cant wait to get out there. any experience w/ trolmotor is appreciated…
Sounds good Dave, I went out this morning landing 2 trout and a spottail… but no flounder:angry: The spottail was crashing bait all up that creek at lowtide. I probably spent to much time chasing and casting to them with no luck.
Any luck with that phone number yet?

I’m sorry man, I am going out to scout some Sheepshead spots for the tourny on saturday. If that falls through, I will call you in the morning or wed. night. Still trying to get that number for you.
