Tuesday Evening 7/30 Report

Met up with Fishb8 and 16 yo son James at the ramp last evening to try and catch their first ever stripers while they’re up from Chas staying on the lake this week.

Got lines in the water about 7:00 and things started out pretty good as James nailed one before we got the second rod in the water. We had a marker out and just circled arount the area with the TM and the bite was pretty consistant. We started out with 4 rods and gradually scaled back as the evening went on, which worked out well as we picked up #15 right at 9:00 as it turned dark.

Everything caught fishing a hump in the big water… anywhere from 70’-85’.

Striperskiff, thank you so much. We could not have asked for a better trip. James is still talking about the fish, bait, boat, everything.
What a great night, great fishing and great company.

Jamey, had a great time. Anytime. Just be forewarned that you guys came out on probably the best trip I had this year. Actual future results may vary. LOL The stars just seemed to be lined up just right and that doesn’t happen often. It all started with getting off work earlier than expected and then heading over to Lake World to find they had some big fat baits. Then over to the ramp to find a perfectly flat lake and no rain in sight. Put in and found hungry fish at the first spot we checked. Not to mention some great company. Heck, even the beer seemed colder than normal.

Rick, are you trying to be funny??.. or purposely trying to put the whammy on me for the rest of the year? LOL

Absolutely NO way am I kidding … every time you have so graciously taken me and my family out fishing you have always managed to produce SOMETHING and more often than not you can produce a lot … You have been very kind to share as much as you can (and ask for / refuse anything in return) … and despite all that I can’t duplicate any of it except the ride

I think I just need to (1) expand my horizons and fish for something else … and (2) more importantly, put more time on the water … Both I intend to do in very short order … like this weekend … LOL … I would go out tonight, but it looks like rain is inevitable (again  ) …

But either way - I’m being serious and I think everyone here will agree that you have done a great service to all the rest of us and you have been very gracious with your time, advice, and resources … I know you are not alone (Fogman, Spoonmaster, SteelyTom, Pattianne, Midlands Striper Clubs people, and others) in that regard and all of you guys (and gals) are class acts and all of us newbies greatly appreciate your efforts

All joking aside, he has saved me from several skunks with a text.

Thanks all for the kind words. Now back to fishing.

Anyone else besides Tom heading out in the morning? Weather looking pretty good.
