Tuesday Morning

Since Richard is still out of pocket, we stopped at Lake Murray Hardware and picked up some Shiners. Fished Ballentine with planers, floats, and down rods. To say the bite was slow was an understatement. Only really located concentrations of fish twice and they didn’t stay around long. Hard pressed to call it a pattern, but they both were in 25-35 feet of water. Water temp was 50.9. Still it was a nice enough day for January. Wound up with four. Got a 23 inch, two 24’s, and a 26. Got one on a float, two on boards, and one on a down rod at 20 feet. Here’s a picture of a nice “double”.

Great job yall. Nice to see yall still got it. Hope pattianne is feeling better and you didnt leave her at home…ha…mike if yall need herring or shad while richard is closed just let me know. But hey looks like the shiners did the trick for ya…hope to see more reports from yall soon.

I was down fishing in your area 3 weeks ago and did really well. Had 17 with 8 or 9 keeps if i remember correctly. And some of them were nice in the 8-9# range. And had a bunch of perch. All in the back of yalls favorite creek.

Good job Mike. I fished the MSC tournament Saturday and it was a struggle, to say the least, for me to catch fish. My one fish came on a free line waaaaaaay back. Barely 21 inches.

It’s nice to be back on the water, and 2015 has at least started out better than the whole of 2014 was for us. Last year just sucked. I don’t know how many times last year we got hung up on “shorts” or could find them but they wouldn’t bite. That’s not even counting Patti taking a fall at home early September and breaking several pubic bones which took 4 months to heal which brought us right into the Christmas and New Year holidays, and obviously off the water. I’m sure I could rant about weather too. BUT, I got a new Wounded Warrior fishing hat for Christmas, and it worked. Today was our best outing since I don’t know when. It sure is nice to catch a fish. Got Patti a “Save Phace” boat mask for those cold mornings going across the water. She looks like Darth Vader with it on. Glad to be back on the water and Spring is right around the corner.

Nice looking fish, fat and healthy!
