My neighbor & I went out yesterday mid-morning till about 3:30pm. We got a late start because I had to wait around for the heating & air guy to do our bi-annual inspection. (wife couldn’t wait around because Kohl’s was open early and she had a gift card & 30% coupon.) Anyways, we put in at Riverbend (SCE&G #4) around 10:30, and headed over to Hawleek Cr. Pulled boards, freelines, & a downrod till around 12:30 with nothing but a couple of short strikes and an 8" perch at the end. Decided to head up & try Cloud’s Cr. and give it a shot. Stopped & talked to Murraymaker on the way up. We trolled from the mouth to the bridge & back again with no luck, so we headed back to the ramp.
I had some difficulty getting the boat on the trailer and thought the wind was messing me up. After my buddy pulled me up I saw this…
My trailer had been hit in the parking lot! No note, no nothing.
By this guy…
I took out the tape measure & the damage to his truck matched the height of the damage to my trailer. I was pissed to say the least. I left him a note asking to call me and discuss it. To my surprise he did call. But nooo, he didn’t do it. He said the damage on his truck was done by hitting a different trailer “weeks ago”. Looked awful fresh to me. After a few minute conversation, I decided I was helpless and ended it. I did tell him I had photos of his tag # & would be filing an incident report with the Sheriff. (don’t worry Jeff if that’s your real name, I didn’t.
Accidents happen, I understand. But be a man (or woman) and take responsibility.

Sorry to hear that bob.Did the guy park beside you or somewhere else in the lot? I admire you for not shooting his windows out, lucky you are a welder \ fabricator.
He parked next to me, on that side. He said it must have been someone else. When I asked him what time he pulled into to spot, he said 11am. I parked at 10:30. I undersand that it could have been another vehicle, but it was a short time span. I don’t own a gun, but I did briefly think about cutting a tire. I’ve grown wiser in my old age.
Yeah, a note would have made it better.

I have had damage done to my truck and trailer 2 different times at boat ramps! It sucks when some one does such a thing and wont admit it. I had a buddy but me in with my dooley and ran my 28’ trailer over another mans trailer who had just pun in himself and was leaving the ramp, we called him back and paid him for a new fender $220 cash and everyone was happy! Could have been much worse.
“It came from hitting another trailer a couple weeks ago #128514;#128514;#128514;#128514;. So he’s a habitual trailer hitter. I’ve had my trucks front bumber ran across twice so I’ve decided not to repair at this point. Hasn’t happened again. Seeing how high that damage is, who else’s trailer did he really hit that high?

The way people park at Koon (and other landings as well), it’s a wonder trailer crashes don’t happen every day. Really need to have drivers ed for boat trailer operators.

Bob, I don’t know if this guy hit your trailer or not but I was accused of hitting a truck in Remelys on this site just because he said my truck had all kind of hole and scratches and dents on it. He was wrong. Most trucks in SC have dents and scratches, mine sure does.
