Fished the afternoon until dark. Tough day of looking for the fish with a stiff breeze. Fished docks and other structure. Nothing doing for first 4 hours. Two 16-in. spottails caught on live shrimp on carolina rig. Tried blue crab, mud minnows, pin fish, finger mullet, cut mullet and electric chicken grub too. Ended the day watching a bunch of 12-inch trout jump out of the water chasing shrimp at an oyster reef at dusk.
If you were fishing the lower Wando…We tend to do good trolling artificial lures along banks. Haven’t fished there in a while though. If you put in at Paradise landing(upper Wando) Hit lots of creek mouths with whatever you have got.
“In every species of fish I’ve angled for, it is the ones that have got away that thrill me the most, the ones that keep fresh in my memory. So I say it is good to lose fish. If we didn’t, much of the thrill of angling would be gone.” Ray Bergman
