looks like, as of now, there is a break in the wind tomorrow. Looks like its going to lay down around 8am so thinking at late start. Anybody heading out?
I wish
I have meetings all day tomorrow so I am out but the forecast is questionable.
What say, a day I would rather be sitting on the dock wishing I was fishing or fishing wishing I was sitting on the dock?
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
Eventhough winds are laying down…look at the NE groundswell thats gonna be opposing the current- very dicey and possibly very bumpy in the depth you want to be fishing
Who braved it today???
I had a crew lined up and ready but called it when the buoy was 4.7’ and 7 seconds with 9 knots at 3:30 this morning. Glad i did since it does’t look like the wind sat down for long even though the t storms never happened. Maybe next week!

We did. Was going to cancel but let two of my usual crew members talk me into heading out which is the last time that will happen.
Ride out was OK at 25/26. Went to the Edisto Banks because we saw a good temp break on the SST charts. Found it. Went from 71 at 120ft to 76 in 180ft.
Only fished for 2.5 hours because the wind picked up to 15kts and we had to make our way in. But we marked some bait and had action the whole time.
Caught 3 dolphin, a stud BFT, a 25lb wahoo and a big king. Lost another 2 dolphin and another wahoo. Had to deal with about 8 big reef donkeys…which I thought was strange as I have never caught them in 180/190ft before.
Ride home was slow, wet and miserable.
Glad you made it back safe shevlin. Always go with your gut. If you don’t go and your wrong, then your wrong. But it is better than going and being wrong.

Usually its the other way around, where the crew is too hungover to go and bails.
Nice report.
