Tuna Monday 4/8

We fished monday and it was another cost effective trip. Water was 72 degrees. A few other boats fished but mostly showed up late morning. We lost at least 10 tuna to sharks. We had a 3 on at once and all three got completely eaten with rigs gone and everything. At one point we had a pack (50-100) bronze whaler sharks attacking a tuna as we tried to get it to the boat. We were reeling hard but the sharks were very aggressive. They came after our stud wahoo but we got him in the boat unharmed. The fish were eating a variety of baits. It was frustrating to loose so many fish to sharks but we ended the day well
#57 lb wahoo on certified boga grip
13 tuna including the new trident 35.6lbs- tuna in top right in pic
several tuna were in high 20’s and all in teens

Good bite!

Nice job!

Very nice Charles, did you fish your boat? Called you many times the last few months, you missed a hell of an oyster roast with the whole crew.About 20 Divers and their wife’s/girl friends showed up for some great food and fellowship. You know you are the topic of conversation if you are not there!Call if you want to get together, its time to sling some steel!(got a few questions on a reel I added to a Biller for pelagics is why I have been trying to get in touch with you)

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

Nice catching!

Very nice!!

nice…sushi time???

Thats freakin awesome!!! thanks for the report… I will take a stab, thats from the north

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! Look at all them tasty ocean treats! I bet they went down the ol esophagus like butter!

this is awesome guys. looks like a great time!

My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Those are some nice BFT’s right there.
