I’d add an amp as well. I added an amp because when I want to “rock out” I want it to be loud and clear. I really have to turn it up on the long run in so I can hear it on my center console. Clarity is important to me.
i have the Bose marine speakers and they are awesome. even without an amp, they are clear as day when i really crank it up
“The amount of money I’ll be makin would hurt your parents feelings. Remember the class where I taught you all how to make it rain? That’s what I’ll be doin every night, dollar…dollar…bills y’all.”
I would add a 400w 4 channel amp, JBL makes a marine one for next nothing and good quality, and 4 6 x 9 Infinitys. If you drop down to the 6.5" Speakers that head unit should have enough to drive them but they are lacking in bass quality when turned up.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day. FISH 24/7---- 25 Grady w/ a couple of Gas Guzzling 175 Johnsons “O-SEA-D” the old “Havanadaydream”
is that like an iPod sleeve when you lower the face of the stereo? just saw something similar in the latest Soundings magazine…
I gotta have my tunes on the boat…makes all the difference…

JL audio makes some bad @$$ speakers that’d put JBL to shame. Infinity is nice also. I’d also check into fusion speakers(same company as head unit) they are right up there with JL audio.
JL definately. Jerms, im getting the same unit, but its too big to mount on my side consol. they make a small remote (size of tach) im mountin on dash and putting the unit in the back hatch w amp. some food for thought
I have been torn as to what system to put on my boat as well. Leaning toward the Clarion CMS1. I am limited for space to mount in my cc, but this head unit can be gimbal mounted as well.
if you want a good deal on speakers and do not need the very best then i suggest west marine in cola. they have a new manager named karl. now when you go into the store they are glad to see you instead of wondering what you are doing there. he hooked me up with some 6" west marine name speakers to replace my old ones in my seapro. four speakers delivered to my doorsteps $64.18/they are just as good or better than the ones that came with my boat 8 years ago. nice to see the change in this store.
