My son was bush hogging our food plot and ran over a turkey.
Why the he ll didn’t runaway??
Cause it was sitting on its nest…
Yep go look and report back how many eggs were run over .
Heading down to check in a few minutes. I was afraid that is what happened.
The weeds were about 3’ high. 3 sides of property bordered by hardwoods. 4th side is the river

You should have let it be if it was 3’ high, good fawning ,bedding area for the deer. That hen was there for a reason.
Poly
Had to cut it. I need to plant.
There were about 8-9 eggs.
I have plenty of bedding areas. Most of the deer seem to be bedding along the river’s edge. The bank is about 8’ above water line which gives deer mucho security.
I have trails that are so well traveled that the ruts are 6" deep.
This is the spot where turkey was nesting

Well your biggest problem here is your land is leaning at a 90 degree angle, so all of your turkeys are going to fall off anyway…
Yea. I don’t know why the pic turned. It was not inserted that way. The house at top of hill is the most expensive tree stand in the world:smiley:

don’t beat yourself up over it. Dookie happens! Besides Turkeys are a dime a dozen.
“Why Bruce?”
Accidents happen. I almost ran one over with the four wheeler while working at the club earlier this week. She was sitting on a nest and if she wouldn’t have popped her head up, I wouldn’t have seen her and would ran right over her. Luckily, I saw her move her head and was able to avoid her.
No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.
