Went this morning to try and locate some birds but the high winds kicked up right at 6 a.m. Didn’t hear the first bird so I started peddling down into new turf. Found 4 different longbeards in 4 different new locations in the swamp yet only 1 of them was henned up. All the birds I have been seeing as well as track searching appears that the males are still flying solo. Anybody seeing something different yet?
Seen Gobblers strutting with hens in two different WMAs…on Feb 6th.
Saw four hens and a jake yesterday just standing in a group next to the road to Wilsons. Didn’t even care that I stopped to watch them for a few minutes.
