Jerms has a nice 19 for sale on the swap shop forum. We’ve had that 19 at the buoys past the jetties, 4ki, chs 60 a bunch. Handled great. Performs well in the average little chop we get coming out of the jetties. Cats certainly have different handling characteristics than mono; it’s a preference to each individual. A lot of people will tell you they don’t like the way a cat performs in a following sea, but to me I’d much rather having the ability to handle the head sea chop than a following sea. Monos have certain pros and cons and so do cats. Like anything, if you know your boat and predicted weather conditions, most of the time you can choose a path offshore or coming home that favors a better ride within reason. If I buy another offshore boat, it will be a cat.

What size are you looking at?

Do yourself a favor and go sea trial one of the Freeman’s.

Thanks … I’m looking for a 26 express or cc twin vee . They just seem low in the bow and sides .I’ve talked to a few dealers but wanted input from someone who actually fishes on one around SC . The freeman boats are extremely nice but way outside of my budget.

Is that 19twin vee a wet ride ?

Saw a deal on a 31 Twin V on Charleston Craigs List today! Check it out!!

Any boat is wet in the right conditions. That 19 is an awesome boat; any small chop that we typically have in the harbor or jetty entrance, it’ll eat up.
