Watched the weather and buoy on Saturday, and was really happy to be on the hill. Got up Sunday and Sailflow must have an intern working for them these days, cause the wind was still blowing pretty strong. Made the call to check it out and hope the wind would catch up to the forecast…never happened. So my son, a first timer friend of his, senior, and some guy named Phin loaded up. Cleared the inlet at 6:00
Not a bad ride out to 250 ft and a confused ocean. Had a couple dolphin move through the spread and then got a double. The boys are doing good fighting the double and we spot a nice one on the teaser, getting ready to eat. Reeled the short rigger to him and bam, triple. Boated those fish and then worked out deeper. Weeds everywhere and it was a PIA to fight the weeds. Tried to get away from them out to 500 and finally turned around to troll the following sea back to the banks.
In @350 the long rigger gets hit hard and after a good fight, our big fish hit the ice. Messed with some bottom fish for a little while and headed for home. Ended with 5 dolphin and a mixed bag of bottom fish. Ran through a nice rain storm coming home to clean off the boat some.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

What forecast did you look at on sailflow??? There is no human edited forecast for the offshore waters, so It seems unlikely that a intern did the forecast for you…

What ? I’m cancelling my subscription then:wink: It was a joke… sailflow was forecasting variable winds and the buoy report was 10-15 knts all day.
