We fished out of Bohicket today and I must say the 45 mile run to the ledge was very nice compared to our usual run. We thought about hitting the other side of the stream, but ran out of time and gas
We left the dock at 6 and met a calm ocean and cruised out about 40. In no time we were on the ledge and the fist fish was a king, followed by multiple wahoo bites and two really nice dolphin on the troll. Finished trolling with two nice mauicoreycarolinagoldfish and 1 wahoo and 1 king in the box. Lost a stud wahoo at the boat. One final head shake cut the leader.
We switched over to bottom fishing and my son caught his first gag, on a jig all by himself. He is very excited about being able to do this without any help.
Great ride home and had her tied up by 4. Ended with 1 wahoo, 2 dolphin, 1 scamp, and lots of very large bsb. Missed some stud bottom fish today, but I will be back and the results will be different
I have gotten some great advice over the last year or so which has really helped me improve my bottom fishing and for that I am thankful. My son thoroughly enjoys bottom fishing and is probably better at identifying fish than me, but some help from friends has made it all possible.
Cool little dudes. They welcome to ride out with me anytime
Congrats!
With rates so low, now may be the perfect time to refinance or purchase your dream home. If you are thinking about home financing give me a ring!</font id=“blue”>
Congrats I have a world of respect for a man that takes the kids out. I take mine every chance i get and it has created many memories i know they will cherish someday. Heck mhy oldest boy is not even 8 yet and he tears them up!!
Don’t worry, we were watching him close. He did a nice job on the gaff.
Thanks for the comments. I think taking kids has forced me to become a little better fisherman because once you have about a 30 minute lull in the action they are ready for something else.
