Made a last minute decision to make the drive to the coast after seeing what seemed like calm winds and nice tides. Well, the tides were nice, maybe too nice and high, and the winds were stronger than anticipated. Fortunately we found some calm water to fish and although the water was up pretty high, we spotted a few fish.
I was especially proud of my son today for casting to and hooking his first red on the flat. He has tried many times, fought lots of fish I hooked for him, but this was the first one he got from start to finish like this. What was even cooler was it only took him one cast to make it happen.
Fish today ate exudes but would not touch a gulp.
It was also a first for my sons friend on the flats. He got to reel in a pig as well.
Learning how to drive a boat the old fashioned way, a tiller 25it doesnt get much better than that.
Great pics!..awesome report!
Almost like an early fathers day present!
Can’t wait till my boy can fine tune his casting! I’m still at the casting for him stage, let him fight and reel in.
