Two Words

If you are cruising around in the boat looking for a fishing spot and you see a guy on land fishing?

A. Do you keep driving knowing there are plenty of other areas?

B. Slow your boat ease up on the guy and drop anchor where land fisherman is casting?

C. Jump off the boat as its going?

Today someone picked -B-

Ha reminds me of this one time I was fishing… Can’t say haven’t seen people do the same or similar on more than one occasion in Charleston.

Been there plenty of times myself, us land guys get no respect

From shore do you start running your mouth as a boat approaches or say good morning?

No time to say hello… you were on me then you grabbed the anchor as you saw me casting your entire approach. Thought you were the dnr til you blew my mind. Next time admit your mistakes and leave. Unlike an adult turning up your music “I can’t hear you.” Well we all can have lapse in judgment next time use a little more sense please.

Just be sure you anchor out of casting range of the guy on the bank. He may be throwing some heavy lead your way.

“My intentions when I came up was to see if you wanted some mud minnows and tell you that’s what I had been catching trout on there the pass 4 days. But after your warm welcome I decided I would stay and fish.” grtlakes…

I pick on poor old fritz about people crowding in on him and really shouldn’t do it, because it is so frustrating when another boat pulls in on you making a ton of noise and cutting you off from your casting area.

Now when a boat pulls in on a shore/bank fisherman, that is just inhuman treatment of another fisherman.

sorry couldn’t stick to just two words.

On the flip side if I saw a bank fisherman pulling in fish, I’m not saying that I would not return to the spot when it was unattended.

“If Bruce Jenner can keep his wiener and be called a woman, I can keep my firearms and be considered disarmed.”

Saw this happen years ago…
My dad before he retired worked at Ft Caswell and when I would visit we would fish off Caswell pier in river. One evening while there a boat was anchored up ,and had been, even before we arrived,
100 or so yds ocean side of pier, almost in small swells/breakers .
Two surf fishermen came out of Caswell complex and of all the beach
avail, set up right at same spot, they started slinging lead to within feet of boat, boat finally left after a couple close hits !!
Now that ain’t right either.:roll_eyes::roll_eyes:

So follypeanuts, is the lesson here that we should give other fisherman a reasonable amount of space?

I apologize folly and hopefully our next encounter goes better.

Yes millacd agreed and if you do get close state your intentions asap. We all are human so we all have stuff to learn. We all are put in different situations good and bad key is to learn from it. I did.

Grtlakes thanks. Seems in the few years of salt water fishing you have caught some nice fish. Keep it up fish on man. I’ll keep the lead to myself… On a positive note. I caught 6 trout and 2 bluefish. I saw your post from the previous day any luck Saturday?

Two Words= Good Guy. He would never intentionally interfere; Guess “TWO WORDS” made his mark.

What about when you are on the bank fishing alone and then a couple of Democrats show up and stand so close to you that they might as well be inside of you. Had that happen last weekend. One dude was even casting literally over my head. I was pissed but moved on.

Had a guy pull a boat up on me while I was running grubs last year. I just kept casting within about 3 ft of his line and boat. He threatened me. But my attitude was “you ain’t going to do Sh–!” Finally he moved on.

There are pricks everywhere.

In my case I guess I should have not said anything and left I guess.?. What would have been the thing to do? Said hi and the fish are biting under your boat for the last 3 hours?

Hell hath the wrath of a man who pays more in SC taxes in a year for a marsh lot than a man who pays taxes for a SC boat…poor fella…dang hate it for him.
