I am making my own rigs with 36# 7 strand, I have seen a barrel knot tied to the stinger once. I can only remember that you start with the tag end on the flat side of your stinger treble, through the eye, bend around and begin the barrel wraps. do you start the wraps from the eye side first or the hook side first and then back through the eye. I know this is hard to discuss in writing but this is the only part I am having trouble with.
Get heavier wire and use a figure 8 knot or you will end up frustrated with cutoffs

Under the “Resources” tab at the top of the website click the fishing knots link, then at the top of the screen click the free fishing knots link and it has pictures and instructions for any knot you may want to tie

I believe what you want is similar to the “knotless knot” listed there. I have not had a problem with cut offs because of the knot.
Thanks Reelescape! That is the one!!!

Figure 8 is best. Cinch down tight, leave 1/4 in tag, and you wont have any issues. Barrell is strong, but highly visible and can reduce gap in hook. You can tie figure eight knots in 2seconds flat. I use pliers to grab and gently cinch tight.
eye side first. then back through the eye after about 7 or 8 wraps is what I use.
