Tying up to a bridge

I’ve been wanting to paddle to a bridge and fish for sheepshead for some time now. However, I have been warned that this is illegal. Is this true? My internet searches are inconclusive, some saying yes and others saying no.

Anything that pulls drag, right?

not supposed too… but… leave plenty of slack for waves and tide rise.

I can’t comment on the legality, but I wouldn’t worry about it one bit. After 9/11 there was a big push to keep people away from bridges. Especially in the navigation channels or around ports where the Coast Guard and local sheriffs patrol. In my opinion, this has simmered down quite a bit.

If you are tucked in behind a fender system, in a yak, fishing for some sheephead by yourself, I highly doubt anyone will say anything. Most you would get is someone asking you to move along. People fish bridges all the time - from the land and from a boat. Get to it!

Narcosis

Only place i’ve heard of fishermen catching any ■■■■■ is under the Ravenel bridge.

When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

I had the coast guard run up on me with that big gun pointed at us anchored at that bridge about 7-8 years ago. That’s the last time I even slowed down by that bridge since.

Yea I had a few run ins with the puddle pirates myself, luckily I had my cellphone to call their CO.They need to teach them boys some common sense ,I’d much rather deal with the navy ,they have been pretty decent in the Cooper.
