UGLY DUCKLIN CHARTERS -10/13 AND 10/14

On the 13th, Brenden caught his first Redfish. He actually caught 3. He stole the show from everyone on the boat.

On the 14th, Becky’s sons gave her this trip for her birthday. They all caught their first saltwater fish. Two keeper Red’s and a Flounder.

All caught on live Mud Minnows.

Where are ya’ll catching mud minnows? I live on a tidal creek off the Folly River and I have not caught any mud minnows in the past two months. I use hotdogs for bait and I have set my trap various places in my creek and the river; all to no avail.

I’m catching them in small creeks. I use a piece of fish or crab for bait. Funny you should ask because yesterday I had none.

Hey! There have been plenty of minnows around the dock at folly ramp…inside the ramp as well as sol legre …I used a can of sardines half opened in a trap Friday and had at least four dozen fat ones at folly in No time.Don’t know if you have a boat but the little tidal creek behind the backside of folly county park (right past the marina on the left going towards bird key-island) has been having some too. A busted blue crab makes excellent bait if you can catch one for your trap…

If I didn’t measure fish, I would be a “busted” capt.

Thanks, penfishn. I suppose after catching many mud minnows in the creeks near my house I have decimated the local mud minnow population

I think they’ve gone on vacation cause I’ve caught very few the last 3 or 4 days. Must be the flood tide.

also the drain coming on to folly near the big boat has still been holding some …per a friend who said he is still getting them there on low tide.

Let me guess…Scott’s Creek?

About 400 yds from where they’re standing you’d have more muddies than you would know what to do with.

A LOT of redfish near where they are too! Just have to know where to look…

That’s a heck of a thing to say about a professional captain who’s probably caught more fish than you’ve ever seen pictures of. Just saying.
