I recently replaced the 4.8x12 trailer tires on my EZ Loader since they were wearing unevenly on the inside of trailer and obviously worn. I asked the guy @ the tire shop if I had a bent axle or something else going on? He said everything is fine and that trailer tires wear unevenly (which I still don’t believe). I tow a J16 w/ a 25 Yamaha 4-stroke, has any one else had this problem? I also maintain the recommended tire pressure. The tires have about +6000 miles on them.
Mine ususally dry rot before they wear out. I would think something was wrong if they are wearing unevenly. Improper pressure, boat sitting on the trailer weird or something with the trailer itself.

That looks like a bent axle or too much weight for the axle.
Are those 12" tires?

Looks like negative toe or way too much camber. I would guess camber. Park the trailer on level surface and put a two foot level on the side of the tire and check for plumb. About the only thing you can do to correct it is replace the axel. Trying to bend/ straighten the axel is a real PITA.

I’ll try the level trick.
Thanks
You can always make money but you cant make time.

yes. 4.8x12

Do the level trick with the trailer loaded and then unloaded.
If you can’t get the trailer to a good level spot, you can measure the distance between the rim beads top and bottom, then front and back.
Again, do the measure trick with the boat on and off of the trailer (especially for the top and bottom reference measurements)
I’m thinking your axle is too light for the boat.

I would lean towards a bent axle… Even too much camber wouldn’t wear them like that unless they were also toed out, which could be from a bent axle… It doesnt have to be bent much to start wearing tires…

What kind of trailer tires? Carlisle are the world’s worst. I have a set of Maxxis on mine now and they’re holding up great.
It ain’t no mystery…this beer’s history!
i quickly wore out a set on my 19’ seapro by not having enough air pressure. found it hard to believe i needed 50# vs what i use in the truck. then again; look at the reccommended pressure for bicycle tires. also the reccommended air is usually on the trailor tires. at least they are they 12’s instead of these high dollar 15’s
Bias ply trailer tires wear unevenly, all the time every time, you can bank on that. Switch to radials and it will solve your problems, the axle isn’t bent its crappy bias tires.
