Just stupid. Just like the steel mill in Georgetown. vote themselves out of job…
Smart money points to the CA plant because it is built and ready. However it is in CA and no one like doing business there

CA’s old C-17 plant should get this work…good for them…the union guys in Washington should pat themselves on the back…for being idiots…

Unions just suck big time.

One group there (IAM or something like that) says the union is about to come to the SC plant.
Wonder how that’s going to work out?
There are plenty of unions in this state. but you are not required by law to join them.

since North Charleston Boeing workers voted to de-unionize a few years ago I would say it won’t work very well…

Just repeating what their web site says.
IAM tried to get into our plant(Harsco Rail), but failed. A lot of empty promises with no guarantees, except that we would be paying monthly dues. Screw that.
They had groups of “union brothers” out in our entrance soliciting support for their cause. When I told them I wasn’t interested and they couldn’t do anything for me, their “leader” called me an a$$hole and said I’d be sorry for not supporting them.
On their supposedly “open forum” website, any comments that were made against or questioning the union, were deleted and not posted. I even emailed the president of the local district, asking why my, and others posts, which were neither as vulgar and slanderous as pro-union posts, were not made public. I never received a reply. That shows how much they really care about anyone else’s opinion. Once again, screw them. They just want the monthly dues.

True, but if the union (after winning a representation vote) signs an ‘agency shop’ contract with the employer, employees not covered by another union contract will be required to either join the union or pay the union a ‘representation’ fee. That fee, in all likelihood, will be equal to union dues …
