Out this morning paddling before sunup to get some exercise. Paddled onto the flats just as the sun rose over a flat calm mirror-like postcard of a morning. Fish everywhere. Staked out and managed 6 on the flyrod lost a few(any decent fly fisherman would have easily been in the double digits) 2 in the slot and the rest all had shoulders. I have never had so many fish hold close to my boat for so long. At times I could reach out and poke them with a 9 foot flyrod while I was standing picking out fish to cast to. 4 fish hit an epoxy spoon then it seemed to be spooking them. Tried a few shrimp flies and finally picked up the last to on a dark brown clouser. Had to leave them biting around 10 a.m. (prior plans).

On my way in I got to meet one of the fellow posters (mudroc). How did you do out there?
