Update from Virginia- Jabez

We came up here to Ruddee Inlet and fished the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament a while back and had decent action. The fishing was a little slow with the top boat catching 11 whites and sails. We were able to catch a YFT and win that for the tournament. All 17.8lbs of him took the lead. We caught 3 sails and 2 whites for the tournament. Fished some more catching a couple to 4 whites a trip and some dolphin. On 9-18 we fished a small one day tournament and caught 14 whites. The bite was on! Cutters and birds were everywhere. We had around 50 bites or better. With just 3 guys in the cockpit they had their hands full. Top boat in that tournament had 24 whites. There were only 9 boats in the tournament and 144 whites were released for the day. What an incredible day! I have never been on white marlin like that before. We are now on our way back home via the boat yard. Hopefully we will be done in the yard by the end of next week and home for the weekend if the weather will allow it. Perhaps there will be a sailfish or two around when we get there. Here are some pictures of the whites.

My buddy from VA called and said it was unreal season they were having. He said 1 boat caught 41 billfish in one day.

Nice photos Ben. See you back at Tolers.
