Fished with HoofArded today along with my son in the upper Ashley. Fished a bunch of areas from docks to pilings, down trees to creeks, and some fishy looking banks in between. Threw artificials all day. Chartreuse and fire tiger got the bites with water that was still dirty from the storm. Boated a total of 17 fish; 9 reds and 8 stripers. All the reds were in the slot except one at 30". The stripers were in the 16-18" range. Water temp around 54. It started slow, but ended up being a great day. Especially being only my second trip up the river.
I talked to my dad when I got home. He told me the reason why they were hitting the green colors is because they’re feeding on shad right now. That’s also why they hit purple this time of year. I caught a few on a purple Slug-Go.
