Good results from the Upper Wando last week among strong winds and 56-degree semi-stained water. Started about an hour after dead low tide and fished the rising tide. Fished Z-Man StreakZ 3.75" in Opening Night using the Z-Man Finesse Shroomz jig heads and Trout Eyes. Most trout were along the creek edges along the main river channel and reds (all were in or just barely over slot) were cruising up the creeks in about 2-3 feet of water. All fish were caught slowly bouncing the jigs along the bottom in a yo-yo fashion. Trout were located over oysters and the reds along the hard muddy banks.
Stay out of the upper Wando. All the fish have lead sinker poisoning. Might as well be fishing in a bathtub in Flint, Michigan! Creosote lesions, and suntan lotion disease leeching from million dollar docks causes cancer, and all the mosquito’s have Zika virus from the wealthy residents who vacation in the Caribbean. Very dangerous place. Fish in the Ashley. It’s safer, and the people are nicer too!
