Upstate Fishing?

Looks like I’m that guy right now…

Can anyone tell me about the shallow water sight fishing opportunities around Columbia and the upstate generally? I know my stuff saltwater, but have no experience with this stuff.

I got to school up at USC, and I’d like to explore freshwater fishing a little without having to truck it back home everytime I wanna get wet.

I fish a kayak, and I really like gettin shallow and tossin fake things at fish… I’ve heard the striper and largemouth fishing at Lake Murray was pretty good?

Really any tips and suggestions are appreciated. I’d be glad to share some redfish secrets for back home in return.

Thanks in advance!

Livestoked,
How’s it going man, I’m glad that you asked, I put in at the Rosewood landing this morning and went up river and caught 1 6lb.striper, 3 smallmouth, and 3 bream on the flyrod. Not bad for being in downtown Columbia. I have a wilderness system ride and this is only the 3rd time in the Congaree, I usually go to the Saluda.I live about 15 miles below Calumbia if you ever want to hit it together let me know, maybe we can go back down to your home waters some time,I use to live in Wilmington, N.C. and really miss the saltwater fishing.Email me sometime.
