Utilities having to do rolling outages due to cold weather load

TVA in Tennessee and MISO in the midwest I’ve been told so far. MISO is Midwest Independent System Operator if anyone cares.

Basically, you have to keep that generation ahead of that upward curve of load.

So what they can do is trip distribution breakers remotely from control centers for a period of time, then trip more and close back the ones they had opened. As the ones they had tripped will pickup what is called “Cold Load” which can be more than double the load they initially dropped due to the customer load it pulls in startup. BTW, Cold Load is not a term used for cold weather, same for hot weather picking up an azz of AC units.

Stay warm folks,

Now that the Commies can also ““shut down”” our powet grids AT WILL supposedly, our dependence on electric power may be our downfall,

sooooo shutting down AMERICA by electricity doesn’t seem too far fetched, which has been discussed as an emergency future blackout plan by our international enemies???

We met a couple from California recently. Just retired so they decide to move out of communist California.
They told us they are required to put a device on their air conditioners. It cycles their air conditioners on and off.
They said the last couple years they couldn’t count the times that they come home from work and their house would be 90° . They would have to go out to dinner cuz it was just too dammmn hot.

OTC, no ■■■■, they had a program in Ga that you could sign up for awhile back, that the utility could turn your AC off during peak times. Just imagine what time of day that was…like 20 bux a month off your bill. Not sure if that was all year but talked to customers as pissed as they can be to get this ■■■■ off my house during the summer.

Yeah, $20 bucks a month, WOW!!!

Sadly, all of these problems revealed have no impact on the mindset of the average Electric Vehicle fan. They just keep pushing that agenda despite the fact that we simply do not have the infrastructure to support mass ownership of EVs. Heck, I saw the other day where Switzerland is considering banning EVs because of all the electricity they consume.

Sadly? Hmmm, Old Foghorn Leghorn sure was singing a tune recently.

Pay attention to that last paragraph!

Redwood Materials establishing operations in Berkeley County with largest economic development announcement in state history

$3.5 billion investment will create 1,500 new jobs

December 14, 2022

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Redwood Materials, a producer of anode and cathode battery components for electric vehicles, along with Governor Henry McMaster, today announced plans to establish operations in Berkeley County. The company’s $3.5 billion investment, which marks the largest economic development announcement in the history of South Carolina, will create 1,500 new jobs.

“Redwood Materials’ record-breaking announcement shows that our state’s strategic plan to remain a top destination for automobile manufacturers and their suppliers as the industry innovates is working,” said Gov. Henry McMaster. “This $3.5 billion investment, and the 1,500 jobs it will create in Berkeley County, is a transformative accomplishment that can only be attributed to the strong, talented, hardworking South Carolinians who make our state as great as it is.”

Headquartered in Carson City, Nevada, and founded by Tesla’s former Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder JB Straubel, Redwood Materials will use its South Carolina campus to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles. To do so, the company will onshore production of the most critical components in batteries – the anode and cathode – to drive down costs and emissions while securing the supply chain within the United States. All battery components will be built from as much recycled material as possible. The more than 600-acre campus, located at Camp Hall Commerce Park in Ridgeville, will initially produce enough anode and cathode material for 100 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery cell production or 1 million electric vehicles each

Not worthy of a reply for sure.

Have you seen where the raw materials for making those Batteries come from. It’s not America and it’s mostly done with child labor. Not that you would care. It’s also a limited resource. Google some of the open mines in other countries. People give our coal miners heck, they don’t hold a candle to what these mines are doing to Mother Earth.

I’d rather see some new refineries being built and new Oil Drilling sights. Not the spots that Biden has approved, Let’s let them tap into Alaska’s massive reserves and get America oil independent again. And instead of Battery plants, let’s look into more Nuclear power generation plants that also give us Hydrogen to run cars on. That’s as green as it gets.

Biden spends your money like silver spooners spend their daddy’s money

CNN has got a ticker running on cold weather deaths attributed to Biden

230 to 25 kv transformer failed leaving over 2200 customers out from about 5am Christmas Eve till today…

Rolled in what is called a Mobile Unit, but takes along time to connect and make the correct relay settings. FYI, if you don’t have a Mobile available, it would take 5 to 7 days to replace the failed transformer of this size…

Kudos to the folks working their azz off nonstop to get this online!!

Who would do this?

Who would support this?

The mindset of someone to sabotage a power plant on Christmas morning is sickening. These kind of people need to be out of our society.

On the Sabotage thing, what about all the Fentanyl that has been getting caught crossing the border, what about the massive amounts that are not being caught? Dump this crap in a water supply system and kill out half the cities.

Looks like cold weather has bunched them up

The Dimwits party would LOVEEEEE killing off the Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid portion of America, so they can GIVE more money to the WORLD, not Americans in order to BUY peace???#^$%

OF COURSE, that will not work with Commies or bullies, as we know???

So, let me get this straight. The government wants to force the issue of EVs BUT, the electrical infrastructure can’t support our basic electric needs NOW? Yep, makes perfect sense. Force EV cars on the public, we will fix everything later

Sad thing is Dfreedom… They knew this going into the push for EV’s We were energy independant for goodness sake!!!
