Vacation Rec's

So I found out I am going to have some time off the last part of May, and I want to head to the Keys. I’m a little late in booking a place, was hoping someone may have some help. I need somewhere nice as my wife will want to go but not $1000 a night nice. I’ve got the itch to chase bone fish and permit. Any pointers would be more than appreciated, thanks so much.

Don’t have much in the way of hints for wife-friendly accommodations, but if you’re goin to keys in May forget about the bonefish and permit, there’s a much bigger, silver fish that’s pretty prevalent down there during that month

Ok, I will be there in May, have a place booked for 4 nights and 5 days, What should I target and who should I charter? Any help more than appreciated.

Tarpon. And there are 100’s of good guides but they book up early that time of year. I’d try to find one ASAP.

Just be prepared to pay premium prices for fly fishing guides that time of year. Lot of people down there chasing tarpon on fly and the guide prices reflect that supply. I’m guessing at least $500/day. You might be able to get a better price if you book multiple days.

Gifford and Chris Morrison work together now. Both Chas gents. Chris has an IGFA lifetime award for putting clients on 100 grand slams.
Joel Dickey is good also.
Cudjoe key has a cheap “park” to stay in…nice 2xwides,etc
