vacationer needs some help around edisto

Hey guys. GREAT FORUM. Me and a buddy ate down for the week vacationing and looking for some advice on some food water to kayak fish. We tried fishing big bay creek today around live oak landing, but didnt have much luck. We’re looking for some creeks with slower moving water to fish. We are thinking about putting in at steamboat landing tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone had a better suggestion of a place to try with a kayak. We’re not fishing for anything in particular, but wouldn’t mind an opportunity for some flounder or trout, but more interested in catching fish than going after a particular species. Any suggestion welcome.

Thanks again for any help!!!

Contact Bob Sanders “FishingWithBob” on this forum, or Ron Davis “RADDADDY” on this forum. Either is a wealth of info on the area. Ron probably has more up to date info for ya, as Bob is kinda laid up right now.

My 2 cents:
On Big Bay creek, there are sheeps on most of the docks. You can catch reds and other species in Scott Creek near the outer bends where the trees are. Throw the yaks on the truck and head over to Botany Bay and launch at the yak only launch and explore Ocella creek…very fishy place. Most of all-enjoy!

Thanks for the idea of botany. Wasn’t sure it’s schedule with deer season open, but will call before we head out in the morning.
