cons- bags are $$ (unless you buy knockoff ones from amazon like i do)
I buy the roll of sealer bags from Wally World. You can custom make different sized bags by simply cutting and sealing each edge. I vac sealed some matches for Harper to keep in his Scout kit. You can vac seal all your money or anything else you want to keep dry. I also sometimes use it for food. We found ours at Goodwill for $3.00. It was dirty but after clean up, it looks/works like new.

Only bad thing about unit is that if ANY liquid comes out and into the unit, it will shut down and not seal…
My advice is to spend a little more. Every now and then you can get the $200 units on amazon for $100 or so.

Got one as a Christmas present, and my wife an I absolutely love it. Aside from the benefit of an airtight seal, the freezer has much more space as a result of the efficiently sealed contents. You can flatten everything out, seal it, stack it, and freeze it. It makes going to Sam’s or Costco a true savings experience as the bulk pricing of meat, fish and vegetables is a viable option for a household that doesn’t have to feed a growing family anymore. Looking forward to shrimp season this year…I’m stocking up when the price is low.
