Well, I had all my hopes of fishing in Venice this past weekend dashed with a front and 25-30knot winds. We were down delivering a boat over the weekend which turned into, “hey Billy, can you come by and look and this and fix that” type deal. After knocking out a few busted up coffin box gas struts, a few gelcoat repairs, and other minor details, it ended up being Tuesday afternoon before I knew it.
Capt Kevin Beach of MGFC fame calls me up to see if I am available to fish on Wednesday. After clearing it with the wife we were set to shove off in the am. Oh, I forgot to mention that Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 we ran out to the delta and picked up 3 25-30lb nice Cobia before dark.
Anyways, making bait was fairly difficult. We ended up with 6 YFT’s with the biggest being 90-100lbs. If we had more bait, it would have been UGLY.

The shrimp boats had moved inshore because of the high winds, so the PIG tunas were no where around. I’ll post pics and some videos later on after I get some sleep… we drove home last night nonstop.
