My Venice trip is finally happening next week. I was curious for those that have made the drive. What route did you take? Should I go south and catch I-10 and avoid Atlanta or should I take the more direct route? Any tips on the drive or anything else would be great!

We usually take I-10 because it avoids Atlanta. It’s usually around 14 hours from Charleston to Venice including stops, sometimes a little bit less.

The only time i went we left from atlanta, and golfed in alabama for a day or two before going the rest of the way. I think we took 20 for a good ways, then dropped down. We fished with Deep South Charters for offshore, and stayed with Ron Price of Fish Intimidator. Both are awesome people and guides and will work hard for you if you should have a bad experience with your guide.

Long Azz way no matter how you slice it. Go through Atlanta at 4 AM or midnight. Going to I 10 down in Fla, is not the ticket.
