Well I made a voyage back to Louisiana to give some demo rides to some potential clients. One of the demo rides was a fishing trip out to one of the rigs.
I tell you what, fishing down there is UNBELIEVABLE. We caught 3 YFT’s in 2 hours live baiting. We called it an early day and left at 10am with 3 fish averaging 70lbs. On the way in we stopped at a rig in 150ft and limited on ARS in 10 minutes on cut menhaden. Those damned things feed like piranhas down there.
I was fishing with Capt Mike Ellis on hull #1, Capt Billy Wells on hull #2 hung around a few more hours and ended up catching 8 yellows up to 80lbs with none less than 50lbs.
I forget how good the Freeman 33’s ride. 33knots in a 2-3 headsea with nary a bump or slam. NICE. One day maybe I’ll own one.
