Anyone got a recipe that they would like to share?
I’ve got a shoulder that I want to cook for christmas, but don’t want to make stew.
That is a tough cut but you can use a browning bag in the oven and it will tender it up like it was in a crock pot.

Browning bag- couple of cans of cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup,1 1/2 cans water, cut up a couple of onions and some celery and add any seasoning that you like and let cook for a good long time. Make you some homemade mashed potatoes while the venison cooks and you are good to go.

It’s a lot of work, but I have cut the meat from them, removed the sinew, and cut it into strips about 3/4" X 3/4" and 2 or 3 inches long. Marinate overnit in a blend of mustard, soy, fresh cilantro and whatever other spices you like (I like lots of garlic and onion)
Then dredge in flour and deep fry quickly. This is great, and obviously work better with tenderloin, but work ok with any cut if you spend the time to remove whatever isn’t meat.
My wife has a huge crock pot that she cooks the roasts in with some water, spices and vegatables. Cooks it low and slow, and it works really well.
What longbearded1 said… they make browning bags for crock pots now, too. Gonna try it next week.

Why would you use a browning bag in a crock pot? Just got me wondering. Thanks
