Yes it was I broke down with my new boat on the road almost to Remleys pt landing Sunday. My boat is only 4 mo old, and the left wheel bearings came apart which broke the carter key which caused the crown nut to come off. Then the wheel almost fell off. Of course I did not have an extra hub with me. Very nice people stopped and some got out to help. Everyone that passed wanted to : something. As mad as I was for the equipment failure, the anger passed quickly because of the community’s response. I want to thank everyone that passed, you all are the nicest people ever. I live in Ridgeville so it took a while for me to get the parts. West Marine in West Ashley was the only place opened on Sunday with a 5 lug hub with bearings for a tapered spindle. My wife picked it up brought to me and I fixed it by 345. She couldn’t believe I was still going to fish. I came this far I am not giving up! I drowned two fiddlers no bites. Still have not caught a keeper sheepshead, but maybe next time…dropped boat at dealer for warranty…look today:s like there is a problem with torsion axle…I knew it was not from lack of grease…lessons learned…always have a spare hub even with a brand new boat…and warranties are worthless on Sunday…Check up on your Sea Tow membership before you have a problem…I thought I had trailer coverage but i did not, but I do now. Anyway thanks everyone you all made a bad experience alot better.

My neighbor had a similar problem with a brand new boat/trailer. I don’t think the bearings were ever greased. It was a hard sale by the time he noticed it. Glad that folks stopped to help
