Left cut at 5:15, late because of delays at the gas station. The cashier was insane and my son and my nephew were trading sits in the bathroom. Well, finally get out and it was nice to run the boat wot for a while so did not take long to get to EB. Soon as I put first line in a small slinger inhales it and I reel him. First fish boys are smiling. They put the belts on and for over an hour nothing. Then they are bored, my cuz brought some assorted tackle and a rod from his bass fishing days and let the boys play. Lo and behold I hear Daddy I got a fish, about a 25 lbs phin hits a shimmy shad on a bass oufit. Well every on knows how that went. Tye on another and bam a monster is on and it lasted less than a minute. Respool with 12 lb test and tye on a buzz bait. They are watching it spin and guess what, it happens again. My nephew gives it a good run and gets him to the boat and is lost to a bad gaff job by his dad. We ended up with one gaffer and 8 slingers and some tired hot little boys.
Wow, that sounds like a blast. I’m sure it felt like a whale to those boys too.
Good job Hydra…Glad ya’ll had a good day. Never leave home without the bass equipment again! When all else fails, throw in a rattle trap!
