First of all - A huge THANK YOU to Penfishin for helping get the pics posted! This was our first year of getting our far enough to try for Mahi! We made a lot of newbie mistakes but still picked up 26 in 4 trips over the last couple weeks. All fish caught between 140 and 225 feet. Found a huge weed line on the 23rd and trolled around for 2 hours and nothing. We jumped a couple sails but both threw the hook. As many of you know we had some great weather windows for small boats lately. Also want to thank Phin and Scoutin as we used some of their rigs and they obviously work great! All the fish weighed between 12 and 35 lbs. with most around 20-25. Still not sure if those are gaffers or slingers. Anyway, we are learning and having a great time so we’ll be out again when the weather permits! I realize these pics are not the slobs many of you post but they are our first so we are pretty excited about them.
Nice report and excellent photos! Congrats on getting out there. Hopefully you will have many more in the future. Please keep sharing… I like fish photos of any kind regardless of size.
