VHF radio issue?

Fished out of Gtown jetties today. Tied my VH a few times and no reply. Tried ch 69 and also tired CH 27 (Seatow automate system i have used further south) still nothing.

Who works on them in the Pawleys area?

Any other suggestions to check.

Thanks!

The main issue with most VHF radios is the mic and if its not the removable kind you might as well just buy a new radio. How does it work on the weather channel?

If it is a handheld, it is probably the batteries. Transmit takes a lot more power than listening.

I had an antennae go bad due to a crack and water getting into it. Replaced the antennae and it was working just fine again.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Did you catch anything?

I don’t know if you had the opportunity to try Ch 27 again, but Sea Two was having some issues in the past that has been resolved with new equipment. Worked just fine this past weekend.

Yup, I think Seatow antennae was out. Tried it again last week and worked fine.

Thanks
