Couldn’t get my handheld vhf to radio check so I tried the radio check on the dash mounted VHF. Neither of the two would complete the radio check. Jumped in the truck and drove a mile down the road with the handheld and was able to have a clear conversation between the two.

I used it yesterday morning about 9:30 am in the Stono and it was clear as a bell. You might want to try again. I was testing two separate dash mount units. I did learn one thing about the service, you have to wait about a minute between transmissions. I tested one radio and then attempted the second almost right after I received my 1st transmission confirmation and got nothing. Thought I had an issue with the second radio waited a few more seconds and tried again and second radio checked out fine.
