Just purchased a Garmin 74sv and Standard Horizon gx1300 VHF. I’m having a hard time trying to find the right connections I need to get these 2 synced up. I purchased a GPS that I hooked to the radio, but would rather just get something to sync the Garmin and VHF. Anyone have the same?
I don’t have that exact setup, but I would think that a nema 2000 cable system would work…
yeah, the problem is the Garmin is NMEA 2000, but the radio is NMEA 0183. Shouldn’t be that hard to do, I’m guessing I just need to get the starter kit from Garmin. Was really disappointed when I went to WM last night and saw they didn’t have what I needed. What’s more amazing to me is that there doesn’t seem to be a simple hook up out there for an in and out for that type…have to get an adapter, then tie small wires together and such…just a pain. And there doesn’t seem to be anything on the internet showing anything different either, so just thought I’d throw it out there.
