I will be out there tomorrow to fish the flood if anyone wants to join. I will get there before low to get bait and take advantage of the reds staging before they go into the grass. Hope to see you guys there.
The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. </font id=“size2”> Hobie Adventure Kayak </font id=“size2”> 24’ Wellcraft </font id=“size2”>
Alright, finaly got photos uploaded. I got out there around 10 and the water was waYYYYYYYY out. I spent the first hour and a half being really picky and getting bait. There were so many shrimp in the water that they were jumping into the boat as i was paddling around in the swallow water. After the tide came up enough to go into the sound i started to move out and set up for the reds. I might have made it 150yds before i started noticing some really large swirls that did not look like mullet. I stood up to try and get a better look and sure enough they were crusing around in less than 10 inches of water. I set up and started tearing them up right away. I caught about a dozen fish in the hour and a half on cut mullet, gulp, and even one on top water. I lost 7 or 8 more on cut offs from oysters. Around 1pm dave and jon mark showed up to join and try and get some tailers. We saw absoulety no tailers!!! We saw a few push busting bait in the grass right as the water was coming onto the flat, but then NOTHING. I saw one lone two foot long black tip crusing along. Jon mark fished the second grass line using cut mullet and landed several fish and dolphin dave did as well. After a couple of hours i decided to try the flats again, but even an hour after high the water was still up to much. The water was more than waste deep in places were a 6 foot tide would have been under my knees. I walked for about an hour and finaly found a couple of tailers up against an island. I managed to get two fish and had to call it a day bc they light was fading. Even though the tailers werent really there i still had a blast and good company.
