I plan to visit N. Chas Thanksgiving week and would love to fish for anything. I have reels and stuff, but rods are a bit tough on the plane and could buy them. Piers sound interesting and Holly sounds good. Offshore sounds good too. Would a jigmaster, abu 7000, or shamano baitrunner work for the reel on the pier? What line weight would you suggest? I would be happy to share expenses. Plan to play golf someplace. Is an evening on the pier good? Mike
mike if you are referring to the folly pier make different plans.the pier will be closing mid sept for repairs.3-5 months.
Folly, that’s right. Well, thanks for the heads up, I’ll work on a plan “B”! Thanks again, Mike
mike ther is still acouple of good surf fishing spots aroud.go to surf and pier and read back a couple of pages.
all 3 of thos reels are great… i have a 7000 and am lookin into buying a baitrunner and jigmasters are great to… pair those up with 9 and 10 foot rods and you are good to go…i would pair the reels up with 25 pound line…fluorescent yellow… if you go to haddrells point west ashley on a sunday and ask for michael johnson theyll point you to me and i will help you out.
TIGHT LINES…DRAGS BUZZIN!
Great start! What kind of fish are biting at that time? Is evening a good time to fish, or is mornng better? Also, is there a charter service that anyone would reccomend to go offshore a bit? Thanks again and looking forward to Charleston!!!
