If anyone has interest in a volunteer activity, I would suggest checking out the Red Cross smoke alarm blitzes. I am the local lead for this activity. Today we had 10 teams made up of Air Force, Navy, Boeing, North Charleston Fire Department, and Red Cross volunteers. We installed over 440 alarms in over 135 homes. It was a great time!
