Friend and I were fishing for sheepshead at the Winyah Bay jetties when a tripletail sailed out of the water into our boat. We were having trouble with large spinner sharks taking our hooked sheepsheads so we assume it was chased out of the water by one of them. At any rate, it ended up being our meal instead of the shark’s. He was just destined to be eaten. First time I ever had a fish, other than flying fish, jump into my anchored boat. Fishing for sheepshead was slow.
I love those jetties. You never know wtf is in store.
Can’t beat those self landing fish! There are a lot of those endangered sharks around.
