VRO or delete VRO

I have a 93 Johnson 40hp with a VRO leaking. Would you all replace it $500? or do a conventioal fuel pump and mix the gas. Hate to put that kind of cash into something I want to repower soon anyhow.Looks preety simple to delete the VRO

For that age engine, I’d scrap the VRO and go pre-mix.

just put the block mounted feul pump on plug the other vacum line that went to vro?

That is correct. Ordered the fuel pump on line and installed as above on the same motor on a pontoon boat. Works like a charm and much cheaper.

o good that’s what I will do

I did have to fab a bracket out of a piece of aluminum that used the VRO bolt holes to mount the new fuel pump on. I guess it can just sit in there but didn’t want it bouncing around and risk something coming loose.

BLOCK MOUNTED PUMP WILL NOT WORK ON A VRO MOTOR
YOU HAVE TO GET A 3 NIPPLE PUMP AND IT WORKS GREAT
I WOULD DEFINATELY BYPASS THE VRO
